Canadian couple, Pharis & Jason Romero, release their new record this week. Called, A Wanderer I'll Stay, the 12 track album is the follow-up to Long Gone Out West Blues, which helped secure the duo a Canadian Folk Music Award in 2013. The debut release from a new Swedish band, Dunderhead, is also out this week. The eponymous album is the first from the five-piece band, who have released it on Rootsy Records. Dunderhead are planning to come to America this summer to do some gigs at festivals (details to follow) in support of their debut album. Australian Matt Ellis has just released a video for a track on his latest album, The Greatest Escape. The new video, for the track, Thank You Los Angeles, was shot in L.A., where Matt now lives. It features Matt driving around The City Of Angels in a 1972 Buick Skylark Convertible and it was shot over two consecutive afternoons. This is it:
Canadian band, The Young Novelists (pictured below), have launched a crowd-funding, pre-sale campaign for their new album, Made Us Strangers, which they will be releasing at the end of April. If you pre-order through Pledge Music, you can receive a range of perks/rewards, depending on the amount you pledge. You can find all the details here, but the rewards include a signed copy of the new album, a limited edition poster, guest list access to a show, a private concert over Skype, or even a house concert (with some geographic restrictions). And on the subject of crowd-funding, English singer, Luke Tuchsherer, has released a new video for a track on his debut solo album, You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense, which he successfully crowd-funded last year. Luke is also currently offering a free, seven track EP – which includes some live versions of some songs on the album, as well as some additional tracks - via his website. And finally - another new video that has just been released is one by Slow Leaves, the name that Canadian songwriter, Grant Davidson, chose to release his latest album under. The album, which came out last year, was called Beauty Is So Common – and last week Grant released the official video for the track Rearview. Grant directed it himself – and this is it:
