Sweden's popular Americana outfit, The Ballroom Band, have just released their new album, The Skebobruk Sessions. The 11 track album was recorded in an old mill north of Stockholm, which also houses a micro-brewery, in the village of Skebobruk. The band recorded each track “live” in one big room with high ceilings and big windows. The result is an album that captures the lively sound the band have become famous for. The Stetson Family, from Australia, have just released a “double-single” ahead of a new album to come early next year. The two new tracks – Travellin Man and Haunted Hills - are available to stream via Soundcloud – and can be bought from the band's Bandcamp page - here. The Stetson Family are a popular, progressive bluegrass band, led by lead singer Nadine Budge, who released their first album, Hey Sister Mary, Where'd You Get That Gun?, back in 2009. Canadian singer, Neil Young, releases his second new album of 2014 today (Tuesday, Nov 4th). Storytone contains 10 new songs – some recorded with a 92 piece orchestra. This is Young's quick follow-up to A Letter Home, which he recorded in a vintage gramophone recording booth in Nashville with Jack White. For Storytone, Young recorded the new songs either with an orchestra, a big band or a choir. The standard version of the album features those takes, while a deluxe version also features Young's solo versions of each track. Tupelo, the dynamic four -piece Irish band from Dublin, last week released a dramatic video for their song, Yesterday's News – which features fellow Irish musician, Eleanor McEvoy. The video stars Irish actress Aoibhinn McGinnity, from the RTE series Love/Hate. The band have also released a deluxe version of their latest album, Push On, which includes a live version of Yesterday's News, as well as five other tracks the band recorded live in the historic Dublin venue, Whelans, earlier this year, for an EP called Nail & Tooth. English duo, The Black Feathers – who are couple Sian Chandler and Ray Hughes – shot a video for the title track of their stunning debut EP, Strangers We Meet, when there were on their recent US tour. Filmed in Tennessee, it is their first official music video. The band are currently gigging in the UK and Europe and working on new material for release next year. Hugely popular Norwegian band, Humming People, have just released a video for their song, Silver Spoon. The track is on their latest album, City of Lost Men – which was produced in Nashville by Phil Madeira and which features Emmylou Harris on backing vocals on the title track. The band's new video is below:
