The much-heralded new album by Canadian Spencer Burton is finally released this week. Don't Let The World See Your Love contains 11 tracks (or 13, if you purchase via iTunes – the extra two tracks are demo versions of Death of Gold and Diamond) and has been produced by both Spencer himself and fellow Canadian musician, Daniel Romano. Spencer is also offering some branded coffee mugs and a special blend of coffee if you order the record from his online store (here). And you can still hear a streaming version of the album here.
Also out this week, the new album by English band, Red Sky July. The band are also offering some exclusive “goodies” if you order it via their Pledge Music page (here). The 10 track album (or 11 if your order it via iTunes), called Shadowbirds, is the band's follow-up to their eponymous 2011 debut album. Anna Mitchell, from Ireland, has released a video for the title track of her debut EP, Fall Like That which also comes out this week. Last week, Anna announced that she would be supporting Simone Felice on his UK and Irish tour later in the year (details here). Pete Molinari, from England, is going to racking up the air miles this year as he will be making a couple of trips to America between now and Thanksgiving. Pete will be performing a couple of times in Nashville this month and then in California, and Washington. He will then return to America in November to gig in NYC, Cambridge, MA, and Portland, OR, in support of his latest album, Theosophy. You can find the details of all the gigs here. Kicking off tonight (Tuesday Sept 16th) is this year's Americana Music Festival in Nashville. The five and a half day festival features showcases by more 150 artists and an awards-ceremony which will be hosted by Jim Lauderdale and feature performances and appearances by artists including Jackson Browne, Jason Isbell, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, and Emmylou Harris. There will also be showcases during the festival by more than 40 non-American artists, including by Danny and The Champions Of The World and Police Dog Hogan, from England; The Duhks, Matt Andersen and Lindi Ortega, from Canada; and The Weeping Willows and Melody Pool, from Australia. Australian, Lachlan Bryan, who will be performing in Nashville at the festival, will also then be heading out across America on a six-week tour which will include dates in Texas, North Carolina, New York and Virginia. Also performing at the festival and then heading out on a US tour is Canadian, Zachary Lucky. The Saskatoon native will be performing songs from his back catalog and his latest album, The Ballad Of Losing You. You can find all the dates and details of his six-state tour here. Phenomenal Australian singer, Liz Stringer, has announced plans for a live album and a bonus DVD to accompany it. The album will be called Live At The Yarra Hotel and it will be a recording of a gig Liz did earlier this year at the Yarra Hotel in Melbourne. There will be 10 tracks on the album – and the DVD is a visual record of performance – as well as Liz talking about some of the songs. It will be released on October 20th.
